Placenta Encapsulation Savannah, Jacksonville, & Charleston Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process?

We make placenta encapsulation very easy for moms by doing all of the leg work for you! Once you deliver, we will come up to the hospital (usually within 24 hours of delivery) to pick up the placenta. Normally, a partner or family member will meet us at the front door of labor and delivery to bring it to me. Then, we will take it to a clean and sanitized workspace to clean and prepare it. Once the placenta pills and any additional products are ready, we will bring them back to you! Often, we are able to even bring everything back to the hospital; otherwise, we will deliver it to your home, and under certain circumstances, it will be priority shipped back. 💙

Payment

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve our placenta encapsulation services, with the remainder paid upon pick up. 💙

Hospital/Doctor's Policy

Please make sure to discuss your wishes to keep your placenta with your provider so they can note it in your file, and to review any hospital policy or paperwork you may need to sign. Normally, it's very straightforward to retrieve your placenta. 💙 Keep in mind that if the placenta goes to pathology, it will not be suitable for ingestion. Please inform me if you develop GBS, as the placenta will need to be steamed first. I also suggest bringing a small cooler or even a styrofoam cooler to the hospital to store the placenta in until I arrive.

How many pills and what is the dosage?

Most moms receive an average of 120 placenta pills, and it is suggested to take 1-3 daily. With the raw/unsteamed method, you actually get more pills than with TCM. I prepare all placentas using the raw method unless asked otherwise. 💙
