The Traditional method of placenta encapsulation is a modified TCM (Traditional Chinese Method). It involves cleaning the placenta, then gently steaming it with distilled water, along with organic lemon and ginger. After steaming, the placenta is dehydrated before being placed into capsules. This preparation is believed to enhance the placenta’s healing and tonifying properties, making it a popular choice for postpartum services.

The RAW method of placenta encapsulation skips the heating and herbal process entirely. Mothers following a Raw Foods diet, as well as some vegans and vegetarians, may prefer this option. However, it should be noted that this does not adhere to the methods of a Raw Foods diet concerning meat consumption. In this method, we gently clean the placenta and then dehydrate it at a temperature of 170 degrees. This option is thought to yield a more potent pill and will also produce more capsules than the TCM method.
